About INVEST
INVEST is USAID’s flagship blended finance initiative, designed to mobilize private capital for better, more sustainable development results.
Who We Are
INVEST has built an extensive network of partners with experience in investment and development to provide the niche, technical expertise USAID needs on demand. This network enables USAID to catalyze investment that leads to positive development results.
The USAID Finance and Investment Network (FIN) consists of over 600 partner firms with a broad spectrum of expertise and work spanning 195 countries.
In support of diversifying USAID’s partner base, INVEST works to expand opportunities for new and nontraditional partners (NNPs) that might have less experience in government contracting and knowledge about how to work with USAID. Around 70% of FIN members are NNPs.
INVEST has worked with numerous USAID Missions, including Kenya, Haiti, Afghanistan, Ghana, Vietnam, Tunisia, Serbia, Uganda, India, and South Africa. INVEST has also worked with USAID Bureaus and Independent Offices such as the Bureau for Global Health, Bureau for Resilience and Food Security, the Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Hub, and the Innovation, Technology, and Research Hub.
INVEST employs user-friendly procurement and subcontracting processes that level the playing field, ensuring that USAID can work with the best firm for the job, regardless of that firm’s size, location, or previous experience with government contracting.
What We Do
Investment Opportunity Assessments
INVEST helps USAID understand market conditions and identify investment opportunities.
Transaction Advisory
INVEST helps link capital suppliers to businesses that need investment to grow.
Funds and Financial Instruments: Structuring and Design
INVEST designs or structures blended finance funds, investment platforms, and other financial products.
Technical Assistance
INVEST helps strengthen the commercial viability of a project at pre- or post-investment stages by developing the capabilities of fund managers or the businesses and projects in which they invest.
